Seems that there are very few Institutes in Pune which teaches
AIX, HACMP and LPAR DLPAR!
And that too one or two are goods others are just earning moneyJ.
The one I think is very good is “may be I will mail you to
your mail id if you enquire”
As it’s not a institute it’s a guys holding experience around
8 years and he is offering classes now.
I really feel he is good teacher and many things to learn
from him. That’s it for today!
common files to look at
/etc/services --> contains well known port numbers.
/etc/hosts --> file that holds host names:
/etc/inetd.conf --> file that contains inetd daemon options
/etc/resolv.conf --> file that contains name servers
/etc/ftpaccess.ctl ---> contains ftp access information
.rhosts --> contains hostname and username for people to login with out being prompted for a password
Smitty fast paths:
#smitty chinet --> change ip on an interface
#smitty chgenet --> change physical attributes of a network card
#smitty route --> add or remove a route
#smitty inetalias --> add or remove an alias
#smitty tcpip --> general network menu
#smitty etherchannel --> manages etherchannels add/remove/change
#netstat -in --> list network interfaces and ipaddresses
#netstat -rn --> list out the routing table
#lsdev -Cc adapter |grep ent --> list out physical network adapters
#lsattr -El inet0 --> look at routes in the odm
#lsattr -El enX or entX --> look at odm attributes that load on boot for the adapter or interface
#entstat -d entX |pg ---> list out network card errors, Media speed, Link status
#entstat -d entX |grep Link
#entstat -d entX |grep Media
#lsattr -El inetd --> lists out deamons started by inetd... telnet, ftp... ect
#netstat -an |pg --> lists out deamons and processes listening on ports
While storage
migration you will have to find out the disk manufacturer first and then rest
of the work :)
But how i have written a small for loop to do it :) Let’s try it.
for i in `lsvg
-o|grep -v rootvg`
do
for j in `lsvg -p $i|awk '{print $1}'`
do
echo $j
lscfg -vpl $j|grep -i Manufacturer
done
done
