Netowrking in AIX (TCPIP AIX ) part 2
common files to look at
/etc/services --> contains well known port numbers.
/etc/hosts --> file that holds host names:
/etc/inetd.conf --> file that contains inetd daemon options
/etc/resolv.conf --> file that contains name servers
/etc/ftpaccess.ctl ---> contains ftp access information
.rhosts --> contains hostname and username for people to login with out being prompted for a password
Smitty fast paths:
#smitty chinet --> change ip on an interface
#smitty chgenet --> change physical attributes of a network card
#smitty route --> add or remove a route
#smitty inetalias --> add or remove an alias
#smitty tcpip --> general network menu
#smitty etherchannel --> manages etherchannels add/remove/change
